Target Optimization by Size (Width) 

Narrow (High Precision): Used for Digital Image Correlation (DIC), small dots, or thin lines on internal components and welds. 

Medium (General Tracking): Standard checkerboard squares for measuring occupant movement or exterior panel tracking. 

Wide (Long Distance): Large reference stripes on barriers or rooflines for measuring gross vehicle movement (pitch, roll, yaw).

High-Contrast (Black/White): Essential for software algorithms to distinguish the target from the background. 

Non-Reflective/Low-Gloss: Critical for preventing flash glare from high-speed cameras (VCC is the superior choice here). 

Vibrant Colors: Used to differentiate between multiple test components or data streams (e.g., yellow for primary systems, blue for secondary). 

Shapes: Custom die-cut shapes (e.g., rounds) prevent lifting on curved surfaces; specific shapes (e.g., diamonds) are used for regulatory compliance.
